How we handle what you share with us.
This site is how institutions start a conversation with JP Davis Partners. We collect only what you choose to give us, we use it only for that conversation, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
Where this policy applies
This policy covers jpdavispartners.com, the site you are reading. Sessions are sold separately at learning.jpdavispartners.com, which has its own privacy policy, refund policy, and terms of service. Buying a seat means placing an order and creating an account there, and those policies are the ones that govern it. Sessions are recorded, and what your seat includes is set out on each session’s page before you buy.
What we collect, and why
The contact form asks for your name, email address, organization, and message. We use these to read your note and write you back.
The Summit updates and Field Notes signups ask for your email address only. We store it so we can send you the updates you asked for. The Summit list receives only Summit news, as promised where you sign up.
Site analytics. We measure, in aggregate, how visitors find and use the site: which pages are read and where traffic comes from. This measurement uses cookies; most browsers let you manage or disable cookies in their settings.
Technical operation. As with nearly every website, IP addresses are processed in server logs and for rate limiting. This is standard practice that protects the site from malicious activity and keeps it available to legitimate visitors.
Who works on our behalf
A small set of service providers helps us run this site: our hosting provider, an email delivery service, a database service, and analytics tooling. Each processes information only to provide its service to us. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it for marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry, send the updates you requested, meet legal obligations, and maintain ordinary business records. If you unsubscribe, we stop sending you those communications.
Your choices and rights
You own your information. The update emails we send include a way to stop receiving them, and you can leave a list at any time. To see, correct, or delete anything you have shared with us, write to jp@jpdavispartners.com and we will take care of it promptly, without forms or fees. If you are in a place whose laws grant you specific privacy rights, we honor requests under those laws the same way: by email.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information entrusted to us. No website or method of transmission can guarantee absolute security, and we work to safeguard personal information appropriately.
Advertising and analytics
We advertise. That means we run ads on platforms such as Meta and Google, and we use analytics to understand which of them bring people here who find the work useful. Those platforms set their own cookies and may use what they learn to show you our ads elsewhere. Under some US state privacy laws, that activity can count as “sharing” or “targeted advertising.”
Analytics run across both this site and our learning store at learning.jpdavispartners.com, and are joined so that a visit that begins here and continues there reads as one visit rather than two.
What we still do not do: we do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share the contents of anything you send us through the contact form with advertising platforms. If you would rather not be included, the learning store publishes an opt-out at learning.jpdavispartners.com/pages/data-sharing-opt-out, and you can email us and we will handle it.
Changes
If what we collect or how we use it changes, this page changes with it, and the effective date above moves. Meaningful changes will be visible here before they apply.
